I’m an instructional technologist for K-12 education and have been in education for almost 10 years. I’ve always had an interest in teaching others, or more so, helping others explore the world! First and foremost, I’m a wife and mother of two lovely girls. We have a little jack russell terrier who is my only “little boy”! My family can be found outside at the beach during the warm months and living off our musical instruments and computers during the cold months. I prefer the warm months!
I started this blog because I’ve been realizing an increasing issue of our world becoming more technology dependent…not just at work, but at home as well. We use the internet as our primary source of information to the world, from weather and world news, to shopping and finding out the latest celebrity gossip. We also use the internet to learn. It has now moved beyond a surface level source of information to a communication and collaboration portal for productivity. However, where is the balance on not letting it consume a lot of our time? As a wife and mother, I am constantly trying to find balance in keeping myself grounded and providing my family with a quality life that isn’t 100% “wired”. I know there are tons of people out there who prefer to not have computers, cell phones, blackberries, etc. My goal with this blog is to discuss and give everyone tips on tools-wired and unwired-that can help us all manage the daily grind! But most importantly, I want to reach out and connect to all the mom’s out there who are trying to balance being a mom in an increasing digital world.
