This isn’t a new tool, but I have to profess how much I appreciate this site. At eHow, you can search for tips and instructions on how to do anything and I’m not just talking about changing your oil. There are tips on How to Look Taller, How to Enjoy a Day at the Lake, etc. I just searched eHow for tips on a diet for marathon training. I’m going to run a half marathon this year (please don’t be impressed…I’m just going to be thankful if everyone already hasn’t packed up by the time I finish!) and found these tips. I think this site is especially useful for any female who wants to empower herself more and not feel as dependent on anyone. I think it boosts your self confidence if you know you can refer to this site to inform you on things like How to Jump Start a Car (this one is a video!) or troubleshoot a variety of computer issues (there are currently 983 troubleshooting fixes posted!). What’s interesting about this site is that it is a social community of some sort where you can become a member and post a “how to” on your own. Not quite a wiki, but an excellent example of how we all share our knowledge collaboratively through the internet. Web 2.0 in action!
